When Forza Horizon 4 was launched earlier this year, the Playground Games presentation for the UK has been a source of great praise. But not with the redesign of the hills and valleys of northern England, developers have been content with the country's famous artistic representations.

Forza Horizon 4 Credits, chief game designer, tweeted a direct comparison of a screenshot of the game with The Hay Wain, a painting by English landscape painter John Constable from 1821. The two images were titled "Games are Art. Art are Games."

Now you can say that there are differences between the two images. On the one hand, Constable's painting is made of oil paintings on canvas, while Playground created his game on his own motor. Elsewhere, there are differences in landscape and perspective, but the car and the small pond in the foreground of the painting, as well as the white house on the left, show that the designers were especially inspired to create this map section.

The Hay Wain shows the Flatform Mill in Suffolk, which belonged to Constable's father, although the county is not included in the game itself. In a 2005 survey, it was chosen as the second most popular painting in a British gallery.
